  • The Pine Barrens, by John McPhee

  • Executioner's Song, by Norman Mailer

  • Salvador, by Joan Didion

James Agee: "Let Us Now Praise Famous Men," a founding document in the genre

    2. My thanks to the anonymous blogger for his/her contribution to this blog. I checked for Let Us Now Praise Famous Men, ISBN 0395488974, at Amazon.com and was quite impressed with the reviews it's received. The title is presently out of print, but thanks to the used book market it's still available.
